ABOUT US

Old Town Riding School is based on Fletcher Way, in Highfield, Hemel Hempstead, Herts just on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead Old Town Centre.

The riding school has been established since 2000 by Brian Bannard (Laura's father) and Laura King, where it was originally based in Piccotts End, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

In 2006 bigger premises were needed, so the riding school was moved to Fletcher Way, Hemel Hempstead. Where Brian constructed the facilities of 11 rubber matted stables all with automatic water drinkers, tack room, feed room, isolation stable, rest room, classroom, office, toilet, 20m x 40m sand arena, all year round turnout and car park within the 15 acres of land.

At the beginning the riding school offered pony rides, private lessons, pony parties, pony days and pony mornings, which is still offered to this day. In 2010 the riding school started offering lessons to local schools with young people with SEN needs and from here the riding school then introduced Equine Support Sessions.

Old Town Support Service was founded in 2022 by Laura King and her husband Daniel King, operating from Old Town Riding School, offering a bespoke personal support service to challenging and vulnerable young people and their families.
