ABOUT US
BLUEBELL is the star of the show, she is a 20yro registered miniature Shetland and standing at only 28" high, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for with the big impact on the people she meets.
LAURA has been riding and involved with horses since she was 3yrs and competing in horse shows from a young age. Laura has been teaching horse riding since 2000 and in 2006 along with her father, Laura opened Old Town Riding School, which is licensed by Dacorum Borough Council. Laura has worked with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties since 2010 and has been a support worker since 2016. Laura is DBS checked, holds an Appointed Persons in the Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 2 Certificates, Designated Safeguarding Lead Adults and Children and a Mental Health Support Worker certificate.
DANIEL has been involved with horses since 2020, when Laura and Daniel became partners and he had no choice, as it becomes your lifestyle, but Daniel fell in love with the horses and the lifestyle very quickly. Daniel has two children, who are very much involved and love the horses, so the running and the upkeep of the riding school is a real family effort. Daniel is DBS checked and holds Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 2 Certificates.
In 2021, Laura and Daniel, formed Old Town Support Service, where they offer a bespoke personal support service to challenging and vulnerable young people and their families. Both Laura and Daniel love what they do, and take pride in supporting young people and seeing them grow. Then Bluebell came into their lives at the beginning of 2022 and Laura has always been passionate about therapy ponies but has never had the opportunity. So with lots of research, planning and a passion of a dream to come true, Laura and Daniel introduced Bluebell their therapy pony alongside the support service from 2022.
Laura and Daniel enjoy seeing the smiles Bluebell brings when visiting schools, care homes, private family gardens and look forward to seeing our venture grow to help more people in the community.
